Nature Knows Best

When Nature and the rest of the world
Know that twilight is an hour of rest,
It makes me wonder why a voice is heard
And patience is put to test.

This seems to be the way where I live,
Since I have left the West;
For I may be sure that everywhere else,
People know what is best.

I heard them say, so often here,
That they will do what they damn please;
But will they ever learn that all their noise
Makes decent folks ill at ease?
