Remake of an old Gothic story about a poor village girl. Shushma is 17, sensuous but undesired by men in her village. During a strange monsoon where green mist rises and children vomit green slime, Shushma has to buy medicine that will fail. On the way, she stops at the public urinals, which are infected and stink, and suddenly a strange, phantom-like Old One type of creature captures her. He warns her later that she will be his first slave on earth, and imprisons her in the cellar of a remote and deserted bungalow. She can neither escape nor expect rescue.

He examines her without lust or intent to rape.
