The Storm

That dark and deathly silent night,
I shall remember it well.
Hardly a star was burning bright;
There was hardly any light at all;
'T was like a night in Hell.
That night, the wind was blowing high;
'T was as high as a summer storm.
But 't was icy cold like a winter's wind,
Not like a summer breeze so warm.
Suddenly, a heavy rain broke out;
It fell everywhere around my room,
Frozen droplets carried aloft in the wind,
Dropping hard and fast in the gathering gloom.
Scary nature/weather poem inspired by sudden heavy showers in my area tonight.

A daunting description... But if the narrator survived, he's stronger for it.
