The Path

Deep behind his eyes,
There stretches the path to his heart;
A path I am certain I have walked before.
There are points of darkness;
All men's souls have them.
But the path remains revealed in the light.
I tread it slowly,
As I have done before.
My eyes spot a doorway;
It holds his heart.
He stands there, arms open wide,
Smiling.
"Welcome home!"
"Beloved!"
