Ode to Rain (2015)
“I love rain.”
I sit and listen to the rain fall;
I thrill at the voice of thunder.
‘T would seem to be the Lord of Heaven’s voice
Warning everyone below to “Run!”
I sit with my love in my arms, and enjoy.
I may wonder
What has become of those still under?
Perhaps they finally ran.
The sound of the rain may be Heaven’s laughter;
The rain, its tears of mirth.
I like to ponder,
Until the storm has gone,
Its effects on both beast and man.
Its effect on me is much different;
I know ‘t would come
E’en long before it had begun.
So I sit and listen, and enjoy,
Until it is done.
“I love rain.”
I sit and listen to the rain fall;
I thrill at the voice of thunder.
‘T would seem to be the Lord of Heaven’s voice
Warning everyone below to “Run!”
I sit with my love in my arms, and enjoy.
I may wonder
What has become of those still under?
Perhaps they finally ran.
The sound of the rain may be Heaven’s laughter;
The rain, its tears of mirth.
I like to ponder,
Until the storm has gone,
Its effects on both beast and man.
Its effect on me is much different;
I know ‘t would come
E’en long before it had begun.
So I sit and listen, and enjoy,
Until it is done.
Ode to the storm as it abates, and I sit with Puabi and listen to the last thunder and rainfall.

I agree that rain reminds us of Heaven and God. It refreshes and replenishes and is the key to life. Nicely done.
