Literature Text

Helene
Based on "Lenore" by Edgar Allen Poe

Many, many nights before
When the sky was blue and the grass was green
I enjoyed the hours with one I adored
By name of Helene
We sat and talked about everything
Even things unknown to men
She knew some things never spoken of
But she let them go in name of love

Then one night not so long ago
She became suddenly and strangely ill
I tried to help her but even so
She claimed it was the Ancients'1 will
She exclaimed that it was a death throw
Then she lay there beside me so very still
Yet I can remember what we spoke of
And what we did in the name of love

you're always around me
the light shines through thee
and the air is so clear
but have one to embrace
with mine heart fate yours
